We are excited to announce another new program at
Hunger is no joke! We see it everywhere we look. Most of our neighbors in need look like you and me. In fact, most of our neighbors are working, have transportation and find themselves needing a little support. Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank is aware that we can do better with serving the hard to reach populations ie: home bound, seniors, and those with disabilities.
There is good news, however! We just recently entered into a partnership with St. Mary’s Food Bank to administer the Commodity Senior Food Program (CSFP). We distribute 50 senior food boxes (in addition to our emergency food boxes) each month. For more information see below or click HERE.
The CSFP program is the primary, shelf-stable, NUTRITIONAL government support program in the country that helps those age 60 and over, who meet federal guidelines for low-income. CSFP is intended to improve the health of seniors by providing nutritionally balanced food to an at-risk population that often do not consume a balanced diet.
